Yeah it well could be for that we have so many here ATM that even going out in the car at night is a very hit and miss affair. We counted 63 in a 10 km stretch of road between my place and town 3 nights ago. We have just had good rain and the buggers will be breeding like rabbits now.
And to make it worse the damn government still wont up the quota for culling and making dog food.
