The length of the forks of the various models is different, I own an A1 with the longest fork which is hard to get on the main stand. Maybe that offers a solution ?

 Thank you for all the good answers.
 I am sure dcarver220b and Kawboy  is right. Tampering with springs and airpressure is no good.
 It is suggested  to rise the forks in the triple clamp about an inch.   Combined with shorter rear shock absorbers, this will only affect two things as i see it.  The main stand will be more hard to use .  But as I years ago  have shortened the stand 7/8 inch, I think it will still be possible.  The cornering will also be affected . Not much I think and the way I ride the  Z-1300, I do not think it will matter anything.
So maybe combined with thinning the seat foam, as Scotch has suggested, this could really be a good and safe way to lower the bike.

I think you are on the correct path, Vilhelm.

You might want to take small steps? Lower the triple tree a bit, take a ride? 

Also, YSS shocks might be able to help you too.
