I'd really like to know what they used to cut the passages into the body for this carb especially back in 1979

Hi, anyone have the instructions to remove these valves and blank off. Do i need to know anything else when carrying out this work.

I plugged passage #6 with JB Weld. At the time I was trying to correct a rich condition. Later I resolved the issue when I wet set the carb floats.

Thanks Bill, so you didn't blank off the valve with a gasket !  you plugged the one inlet vacuume  passage with jb weld !

Yes Phil,
JB Weld, which may not be fuel resistant, is what I carefully ladled into that opening. 
Frankly, it didn't help. I didn't notice any difference in the way the bike ran. I'm not aware of any down side to have done so but I probably should have left it alone.
