Would half a litre of paint be enought to do a good job an a KZ 1300, or will I have to buy a full litre?

Depends how many coats you're going to put on really. I used about half a litre when I did the tank using ready mixed. If you buy half a litre of paint then you might have enough because obviously you'll be mixing 50/50 with thinners.

Regarding a 1/2 a liter being enough.

It depends on how good of equipment (Sprayer and Compressor) you have. and on how good of a painter you are.

On my 1st paint job I tackled last year, I know I went though way too much color.
